Watched – And just like that…

The “new” Sex and the City, but without “Samantha”. I have binged this series (1 season, 10 episodes) all on the day I got HBO Max, which came out on March 8th in the Netherlands. I wanted to write about it but had a few other posts in the works, so that’s why I am sharing this one a tad later. But hey, I watched it, I have written it… And I have LOVED ♥ it! If you liked the original series, the new one won’t disappoint you. Unless you were only watching it because of Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones in the original series), as she isn’t in this one.

If you’re interested in why Kim isn’t in this one, Google will tell you all the gossip there is to find. “Sources” say this and that… I don’t want to quote any here as I’m not sure these are the real reasons and I’d rather not share “untrue” things as I hate lying. So the new reboot of Sex and the City with: Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon (my name twin and actually my fave of the “galls”, character wise) and Kristin Davis (who is an avid supporter of one of my favorite nature trusts: The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya, please Google them if you love elephants, you’ll foster one with just a few clicks 😉 ♥ 🐘).

Watched – Return to Hogwarts (HBO Max)

Since March 8th, the Netherlands has officially gotten the HBO Max streaming service. I really wanted to see it as I do love the world of Harry Potter. Now, before I go on about this wonderful anniversary TV show, I want to make something clear.

Many things Harry Potter I love but over the last years, I have not been in support of the words spoken by it’s creator, JK Rowling. She made comments on different occasions, voicing her opinion on platforms like Twitter, with which I absolutely do not agree! While I do support something she created many moons ago, I do not agree with her current view on things. So please, I am aware of her very biased tweets, how much pain she spread to fans worldwide… First she created a world where it seems everyone has their worth, everyone has an important role to play, and then she goes on and writes these hurtful things about people that have helped her make her money, loads of that as well. Nope. So this is only about Harry Potter, about the actors who portrayed the characters (of which several have openly said the same as I am saying now: she created our fantasy world but we do not share her opinions).

TV-shows that I watched after my surgery

When you need a hip surgery, the thing after that which you need is a lot of rest. Some exercise and lots of rest. Slowly, you may exercise some more, but it will definitely wear you down so you need more rest. And while I do enjoy good music or reading, it was easier to watch TV. If I fell asleep, it would not matter, I could just watch it again. But mostly I watched shows I had seen before if I felt too tired, as it would not be too bad if I should miss a bit here or there.

These days, I do watch some cable TV every now and then, but I mostly watch series through some steaming services. I have Netflix, Amazone Prime Video and Disney+, so there is quite a bit that has been available to me for watching. I will tell a bit about every series and on which VOD (video on demand) I saw them. I will provide links to the sites about the shows, so you can check them out for more info,

Autism – Lie To Me (TV series)

When I first heard about the TV series “Lie to Me”, starring Tim Roth and Kelli Williams, I was very interested. The series ran for 3 seasons, from 2009-2011.

I thought I had bought all 3 seasons on DVD, but I guess two of those seasons had been “gifts” from my then GF, and yeah, she paid for it so it was hers….. Gifts? Nah! It was for mutual use…. Kmy gifts that I have receipts from were obviously meant for her, so she could keep those…). So when I wanted to watch the show again, I only had season 2…. Ugh 😔. Fortunately, the 3 seasons box was on sale at (somehow it was almost €30 cheaper than so I took my last saved money and got me the box set while it was cheap. I really *love* that show so it’s definitely worth the money.

Re-watching series and movies

There are several movies and series I just can’t seem to get enough of! Some movies I watch like once a month. Some series I watch yearly. With so many other (new) movies and series to watch, I sometimes wonder why I seem to keep going back to several titles.

I know I feel good while watching them. I maybe enjoyed the book(s) before I enjoyed the movies. There may be characters in it that made me feel connected. Some series it’s the opportunity that they show, or some form of a future that would appeal to me.

I know I have shared some of my series and movies before. And I’ll search for some of the posts I’ve previously shared about them.

Now watching – Bron (Netflix)

I wanted to watch a new crime series so I checked what Netflix had to offer. I stumbled on a Swedish/Danish series called “Bron”, which translates into “The Bridge”. The first season all evolves around something that happened on the border of the Swedish and Danish countries on the bridge that connects the two countries together.

I am watching the series in the original language, which is (according to Netflix) Swedish. There is no option to chose a different language in my Dutch Netflix app. The basic info I am sharing, I found on My opinions are my own though and they may differ from yours 😉 Which is totally alright as we all experience things differently…

Now watching – Zodiac

I was browsing the movie section at Netflix and saw the title “Zodiac”. It said the movie would be deleted at the end of the month, so I though it was best to check it out, see if it really was something I would/could like. gives this movie a 7,7/10. The short info about it is: In the late 1960s/early 1970s, a San Francisco cartoonist becomes an amateur detective obsessed with tracking down the Zodiac Killer, an unidentified individual who terrorizes Northern California with a killing spree.

The movie is from 2997 and stars well known actors like Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr. and Mark Ruffalo.

Now watching – Current TV series

When I watch TV I always have several series that I dive into. Mostly because I can binge a series but sometimes I just need to change the tone of it a bit. So often I watch several different shows at the “same time” so I have something to choose from that suits my current mood. At this moment I am watching several shows on my 3 streaming services, Amazon Prime, Netflix and Disney+ Star.

I watch different kind of series and I am currently trying to stay spoiler-free for the latest Disney+ Marvel series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”, as I want to binge them in one go, if I can.

Re-watching – The Walking Dead

I have started this series several times, even have several seasons on Bluray… Last time I was watching this on Netflix, I got to season 8. And then for some reason, I stopped watching. Now it’s on Disney+ Star, and I decided to start it once more… I later found out that it is still on Netflix, so I could have just got on where I had left it. But nope, I wanted to watch it all over, to get into it again.

I know this TV series is based on a comic book series. I had and have never read those, so when I first started this show, I went in blind. As I wrote, I have watched this before, I even wrote a post about it back then: Now watching – the Walking Dead. I was watching season 4 then, just before Xmas 2019.

Now watching – Elementary

I’ve seen this series on Netflix while they had it available. But then, it got canceled and I was sorry as I really liked it. But, I wanted to watch The X-Files season 5 this evening on Amazon Prime Video and… The now have 7 seasons of Elementary online! Yay for me, as I immediately started to watch this again. I do wonder now if Netflix had all 7 seasons as well… I will see if I recognize anything when I get there 😉
